Hi!!!

when i went for a riding lessen with the pony club was fun we were practising turning corners after jumping and getting a nice bouncy canter befor the jump, overall i thought it was realy good fun. on saterday i went hunting like i wrote in my blog. i went with my friend Thomas and it was fun, we were out for ages and then after a few hours we went home i found it great, we saw a fox run across the field that5 we were in, it was realy good fun. on thursday i had another jumping lessen and as i had a new saddle it was easier, when we were jumping we were practising grids and trying to get him to listen to me, at the end of the lessen i had achieved it though so that was good, now my teacher said  i need to do lots of canter poles to get his canter under control. but overall it was good. this weekend i am going to bicton arena and doing a ponyclub ralley there, we are doing crosscountry. the next day we are then going to southcott and doing a hunter trial there, we are going with a lady we know so it will be more fun. anyway i must go now i shall talk about how my weekend went on my next blog seya!!! 

hi again last weekends jumping that i wrote about was great we had to go back to basics first though because i was leaning to far forward in the jumping position and i was putting my hands to far up his neck, other then that it was great though. I went for a beech ride at exmouth beech aswell on sunday it was great because i was with my two friends Georgia and thomas we were galloping down to sandyu bay and then went for a paddle in the water. on friday i am going to Bicton college to do some jumping, i am doing it with my ponyclub East devon. on saterday i am going hunting on my pony with my friends thomas and maybe Megan. any way i shall talk about how my hunting and jumping went on my next blog. BYE!!!

Last weekend i went to Bicton Arena to do a hunter trial, the course i did was 2.3ft my pony stopped at a few so we didn't get placed anywhere. some of my friends that were there got placed which was good. overall though he did realy good so i am proud of him.

This weekend i am going to have a lessen on horse jumping with my pony and i am being taught by a lady who knows a lot about jumping. When i go i will probebly jump around 2.3ft 2.6ft as that is the size i am jumping at the moment. my pony is only 5 so he is learning all the time like me and together we will come more experianced.my favourite thing to do on him is x-country and hacking (riding out on the roads).

What is it?

Jumping on a horse is when you have a jump and you ride your horse into it and jump it.

What types of jumps can you get?

Types of jumps you can get are:

Single one

Courses

Double jumps

Triple jumps

Single ones are when there is just one jump that you jump

Courses is when there is around 7 to 16 jumps that you have to jump in a certain order

Double ones also known as a grid is when you have to jump to in a row , sometimes you have a pole before the jumps to make them easier for the horse to see.

Triple jumps are also known as a grid as well you also normally have a pole in front of it so the hose can see it.

How to Jump

When you jump you have to lean forward and take your weight out of the saddle so then it is easier for your horse to jump. As soon as your horse lands back on the ground you have to lean back to keep him balanced and to keep control of his otherwise he might run off with you.
